News - 2011 Ferrari Challenge

Ferrari Québec wishes to congratulate Emmanuel Anassis for winning his first 2011 Ferrari Challenge trophy this past weekend. While racing the brand new #777 Ferrari 458 Challenge car, Anassis came in first in the second of two races held at Lime Rock Park in Lakeville Connecticut on July 30th.

Ferrari Challenge North America points leader Enzo Potolicchio of Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale took the first race but in the second, Anassis passed Potolicchio going into the uphill corner for the lead with 11 laps to go, and with Potolicchio hit with tire trouble two laps later, took the win 13.3 seconds ahead of Cooper MacNeil of Ferrari of Houston, followed by Mark McKenzie of Ferrari of Houston.

To add to our excitement, Anassis also set the fastest lap in the 458 Challenge class, turning a 0:55.912 on lap 8 during race 2 in the #777 car.

Emmanuel Anassis, a resident of Montreal, is a top driver with numerous Ferrari Challenge wins under his belt. He first started racing in the Ferrari 360 Challenge Series a few years ago and was a race winner from day one taking many trophies home. The event at Lime Rock Park was his first time running the 2011 gentleman drivers' series this season as he decided to start racing again just a few weeks ago. We look forward to his second Ferrari Challenge participation in Miami when Ferrari Challenge North America runs its sixth and final round on September 23rd at Homestead Miami Speedway.
